About the Interior Architecture program:

(taken from the FIU Interior Architecture website, 2015)

“Ranked by DesignIntelligence as the 9th best Interior Design Graduate Program in the United States, FIU’s Interior Architecture Department consistently strives for excellence in interior design education. Our mission is to advance the profession through teaching, scholarship, and service focused on the generation and application of knowledge about the creation of innovative and inspirational interiors.

‘Highly respected among Miami’s design community, FIU’s interior architecture graduates are known to be creative, self-motivated, critical thinkers who can successfully address complex issues while remaining flexible, detail oriented and thorough.’

The Interior Architecture Department is a community of students, graduates, and faculty who are intellectually and actively involved in the field of interior design and architecture. We are critically oriented toward design’s role in society and believe that people who design well, have a professional attitude, and a sense of accountability are able to make significant contributions to society at local, academic, professional and global levels.

Through leadership, research and creative expertise, our faculty, students and alumni are committed to preparing ethical, thoughtful, and productive global citizens who participate in creating quality interior environments. The ultimate goal is to graduate responsible professionals who contribute to, and enhance, the economic and social well-being of the communities they serve.”
