Music That Speaks

I studied classical piano for several years. It’s a part of who I am, and I have my mother  (and my beloved piano instructor) to thank for that. Music is made to make you feel something. Music is art, and art speaks to us. We are changed by it. Few things are more beautiful. (You can listen to some classical music for free, right here!). My favorite is a piece I learned to play when I was 16. The piece is by composer Franz Liszt, titled Un Sospiro.

Have you heard of the Set Your Life to Music series from Philips Classics Productions? I have several of them and they are amazing! I highly encourage you to look them up. Some are oddly creative (Bach for Barbecue), others make you excited for rainy afternoons (Rachmaninoff for a Rainy Day), and others are nice when you’re starting your day (Mozart for the Morning Commute). Liszt for Lovers is a personal favorite. Besides the great marketing strategy, the albums are great and the album covers are so, so charming! Sometimes I think it’s the cover art that lures me in. Below, a few.
